Rooftop HVAC Condenser Changeover Lift at Brisbane’s Polish Club

Project Summary

Mighty Cranes supported Brisbane’s Tri Tech Air Conditioning with a planned rooftop HVAC lift at the Polish Club, where the venue was upgrading its air conditioning throughout the dining and restaurant areas. Our involvement focused on safely removing three existing outdoor condenser units from the rooftop and placing three new replacement units into position, largely in the same locations as the original equipment.

The lift was scheduled for the early hours of the morning to minimise disruption to the club’s day-to-day operations and to safely manage what is normally a busy, high-traffic area. This timing helped Tri Tech and our crew establish the required exclusion zones and complete the critical lifting work before regular trade and foot traffic increased.

As with many commercial air conditioning Brisbane changeovers, the job required clear planning around access, lift paths, and surrounding tenancies. Jayden the project lead from Tri Tech noted the importance of the setup of the exclusion zone and Mighty Cranes being mindful not to lift over certain areas, and keeping communication tight across both teams so everything could be completed efficiently and without unnecessary impact on neighbouring spaces.

From Tri Tech’s perspective, what made the job run smoothly came down to teamwork, communication, and coordination on the day, along with punctuality and being on site early to meet the time restraints. The outcome was a clean, straightforward lift and air conditioning installation the old condensers were craned down for removal from site, and the new units were lifted and placed into position so the upgrade could proceed on schedule.
